At CalcoWorks (calcoworks.com), we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have when you use our calculators, PDF tools, image tools, developer utilities, blog, and related services (the “Service”).
By using CalcoWorks, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service. For advertising specifics, also read our Advertising disclosure. For how we write educational content, see Editorial standards.
This policy is written to be clear for users and to meet common publisher disclosure expectations (including Google AdSense-related cookie disclosures). It is not a substitute for legal advice tailored to your jurisdiction.
1. Who we are
CalcoWorks is an online toolkit operated for users worldwide. For privacy questions, contact support@calcoworks.com. Automated system mail is sent from no-reply@calcoworks.com (not monitored for replies).
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email address, and authentication details when you register or sign in (including optional OAuth providers such as Google or GitHub when enabled).
- Usage and history data — tools you open, calculation or conversion history, preferences, and dashboard activity when you are signed in.
- Contact and support data — name, email, and message content you submit through our contact form.
- Technical and device data — IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP, referrer URL, pages viewed, and similar diagnostics needed for security, performance, and analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies, preference cookies, and analytics/advertising cookies as described below.
We do not ask you to upload government ID numbers or payment card data into calculator fields. Payment processors (when Premium checkout is used) handle card data under their own policies.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve CalcoWorks tools and the website.
- Save signed-in history, preferences, and Premium entitlements.
- Respond to support, feedback, and partnership requests.
- Send service emails (verification, password reset, important account notices) from no-reply@calcoworks.com.
- Measure traffic and feature usage (for example with Google Analytics 4) so we can fix bugs and prioritize improvements.
- Show relevant advertising on free experiences through partners such as Google AdSense, when ads are enabled.
- Detect fraud, abuse, spam, and security threats.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded documents to train public AI models or for unrelated marketing lists.
4. Client-side vs server processing
Many developer and image utilities are designed to run primarily in your browser so raw content does not need to leave your device for routine transforms. Some features (for example certain PDF conversions, account sync, Mock API hosting, or history) require a short-lived server step.
- Browser-first tools — processing happens locally where practical; we encourage you not to paste secrets into any public tool on a shared computer.
- Server-assisted tools — files or payloads are processed to deliver the feature you requested, then removed according to our retention practices below.
5. File processing (PDF and uploads)
Files uploaded for PDF or document tools are processed to complete your request. We do not use your documents for advertising profiling or for selling data. Uploaded files are intended for short-lived processing and are not kept as a long-term personal archive on our servers after processing completes, except where a signed-in feature explicitly stores a history entry you can manage.
You remain responsible for having the right to process any file you upload and for redacting confidential data before sharing screenshots or exports.
6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising (including Google AdSense)
Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect forms, and remember basic preferences required for the Service to function.
Analytics — we may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or similar tools to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, sources such as search or referrals, device categories). These tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers.
Advertising — free pages may display ads served by Google AdSense and, where applicable, other third-party vendors or ad networks. Please read the following disclosures carefully:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- You can learn how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If other third-party vendors or ad networks also serve ads on CalcoWorks, they may place and read cookies or use web beacons or similar technologies on your browser. Where those vendors offer opt-outs, you may visit their sites or use industry tools such as aboutads.info. See also our Advertising disclosure.
You can control many cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect sign-in or other features.
EEA / UK / Switzerland note: Where required by law, we aim to obtain appropriate consent for non-essential cookies and personalized ads (for example via a consent management platform integrated with Google’s requirements). Non-personalized ads may still be shown where consent is declined, subject to partner and legal rules.
7. Third-party services
We use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, authentication, payments (when applicable), analytics, and advertising. They receive only what is needed to perform their service and process data under their own privacy terms. Examples may include cloud hosting, transactional email, OAuth login providers, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense.
8. Data retention
We retain account and history data while your account remains active and as needed for security, billing disputes, and legal compliance. Free accounts may have limited history retention; Premium plans may allow longer history. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to resolve your request. You may request account deletion and associated personal data removal subject to lawful exceptions (for example fraud prevention logs).
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@calcoworks.com with enough detail for us to verify and fulfill the request. You may also:
- Update profile details in your account settings when signed in.
- Clear cookies in your browser.
- Use ad personalization controls offered by Google and other networks (links in Section 6).
- Stop using the service and request account deletion.
10. Children's privacy
CalcoWorks is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International users
Our infrastructure may be located in multiple regions. By using CalcoWorks you understand that information may be processed in countries other than your own, with safeguards appropriate to the service.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and avoid sharing account access.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact
