About Image Watermark

Image Watermark overlays text — such as a name, brand, © line, or “PROOF” stamp — onto a photo so viewers know who owns or issued it. CalcoWorks lets you set text, color, opacity, font size, and placement (corners, center, or a tiled pattern) while processing stays in your browser. That local path is useful when gallery proofs include faces, venues, or products that should not travel through an anonymous upload converter before a client ever sees them.

Watermarks discourage casual misuse of portfolio shots, draft designs, and event photos. Photographers send watermarked previews before delivering final files. Small businesses mark catalog images used on social posts so competitors cannot lift a clean pack overnight. Teachers mark worksheet graphics. Freelancers stamp mockups shared for approval. Real-estate agents and event volunteers use dated marks so shared albums stay attributed when they circulate in group chats.

A good watermark is readable without destroying the subject. High opacity in the center can block the photo; low opacity in a corner is subtler for trusted client reviews; tiled diagonals are harder to crop away when images might be scraped. Light text on dark photos (and the reverse) improves contrast. After watermarking, you may still resize or compress for delivery — and it is usually wiser to lock final dimensions first so the text scale matches the published frame instead of floating tiny on a 4000px master.

CalcoWorks focuses on text watermarks that are quick to configure. Complex logo-in-center brand kits may still need a design app, but most everyday copyright, proof, and draft marks are covered here without installing plugins. Treat watermarks as a deterrent and attribution aid, not DRM: keep unmarked masters offline, and never destroy the only clean archive by overwriting it with a stamped export. If client reviews need softer marks, lower opacity and prefer a corner before committing to a dense tiled pattern.
